The story

Located on the fifth floor of a building in Osaka’s Dojima district, this restaurant takes the classic Kansai-style oden and applies the precision of Japanese culinary technique. The chef-owner, Hiroo Saka, grew up on the Noto Peninsula, a region rich in seafood and mountain produce. The same philosophy of respecting the seasons—shun—that guides the group’s flagship Japanese restaurant, Kagaman, is evident in every bowl at Man-u.
