The story
Grand Kitchen, the all-day dining restaurant at Palace Hotel Tokyo, goes by the name grill GRAND. It is a spacious, light-filled room with a six-meter ceiling and an open kitchen that brings the cooking to life. The design is natural and understated, with soft sunlight streaming through the glass walls. On warm days, the terrace overlooks the hotel’s moat and greenery, offering a calm retreat in the heart of Tokyo.
The menu draws from French, Western, and Japanese traditions. Dishes such as roast beef and marron chantilly have been favourites since the days of the old Palace Hotel, carrying a sense of continuity. The restaurant is a place where breakfast (for hotel guests only), lunch, and dinner are served, and the wide range of options suits different occasions.
grill GRAND’s commitment to quality and value earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026. The recognition reflects the consistent, approachable cooking that defines the restaurant. Seasonal events add further variety: a summer terrace plan pairs seafood with Italian sparkling wine, and a Japanese Wine Journey series brings together three leading wineries for a multi-course dinner with producer conversations. Limited-time dishes like lobster roll and peach parfait appear during the summer months.
Private dining rooms are available for gatherings of up to twelve guests, with dedicated anniversary and party plans. The restaurant also received a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2025, underscoring the thoughtful wine programme. Whether for a leisurely meal by the open kitchen or a special evening on the terrace, grill GRAND offers a consistently warm and well-executed dining experience.
