Since 1939, Kioicho Fukudaya has been a quiet presence in Tokyo’s dining scene. Its founder, Fukuda Machi, was deeply inspired by the artist and gourmand Rosanjin Kitaoji. Under his direct guidance, she built a restaurant where Japanese culture and beauty are not decor but the very foundation of hospitality. “While fully enjoying Japanese culture and beauty, we allow our guests to relax,” the restaurant states. “That is the spirit of Fukudaya’s hospitality.”
