The story

Tour D'argent Tokyo: Michelin-Starred French Elegance in Tokyo's New Otani

The Parisian Legacy in Tokyo

Tour D'argent Tokyo is the only branch of the venerable Parisian institution that has defined French haute cuisine for over four centuries. Located on the lobby floor of the Hotel New Otani Tokyo, the restaurant carries forward the spirit and DNA of its ancestor while evolving with the times. The philosophy is clear: to offer not just a meal, but a stage for life's celebratory moments. French culinary culture is presented with an artistry that feels both timeless and refreshingly contemporary.

Chef Renaud Augier

Influenced by his grandmother who ran a restaurant, Executive Chef Renaud Augier began his career at age 16 in a Michelin-starred kitchen. He earned the prestigious M.O.F. (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) in 2019 and was awarded the Ordre du Mérite Agricole in 2024. Chef Augier brings a deep respect for tradition together with a drive for new creation, all while expressing his pride in sharing French gastronomy in Japan, a country he loves. His cooking honours the 400-year-old Parisian legacy while introducing new inspirations.

Ambiance and Occasion

Step inside and you are greeted by an atmosphere reminiscent of a French noble mansion. The restaurant offers private rooms suitable for intimate celebrations and important business receptions, as well as the full space for exclusive parties. It is a setting designed for special occasions – the kind of place where every detail, from the beautiful tableware to the attentive service, is crafted to make guests feel truly welcomed. Wheelchair accessible, with outdoor seating and ample parking.

The Michelin-Recognised Cuisine

Tour D'argent Tokyo holds one Michelin star, a recognition of its consistent high quality. The menus change with the seasons – highlights include "Ma Provence", evoking the flavours of southern France, and "Au bord de l'eau" celebrating early summer. Each dish is described as a symphony of beauty, fragrance, and depth, composed to surprise and delight. The wine list is curated by the restaurant's sommeliers, who also offer a wine school program. The cuisine is unequivocally French, yet tailored for Tokyo's refined palate.

A Stage for Happiness

Tour D'argent Tokyo defines itself as more than a restaurant – it is a stage where guests experience "hare no hi", a Japanese concept for festive, special days. The team's mission is to create a space where every guest can enjoy a joyous and happy moment, all while celebrating French food culture. Whether for a wedding, a party, or a quiet dinner, the restaurant's commitment to exceeding expectations remains constant.
