The story
Casa Rubén sits in the tiny hamlet of Tella, within the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park – one of the world’s first national parks. The restaurant’s panoramic views over the Cinca and Yaga rivers set the stage for a meal that is both rooted in the land and boldly contemporary. In 2026, this commitment earned Casa Rubén a Michelin star, a recognition of its high-quality cooking and singular vision.
Chefs Rubén Coronas and Cristina Romero describe their project as a dream come true. Their tasting menu, named “Sueños” (“Dreams”), is the only way to dine here. It begins with a welcome cocktail, a tasting of Koroneiki Shio extra virgin olive oil, and artisan breads. Five snacks lead into seven starters, then two meat courses, two desserts, and petit fours. The cuisine is contemporary – refined yet grounded in the traditions of the Aragonese Pyrenees. Each dish reflects the couple’s belief that dreams are worth pursuing, and the result is a meal that feels both personal and place-specific.
The dining room is air-conditioned and offers outdoor seating in warmer months. The space is described as unique, filled with history, and the service is warm and familial. Guests consistently praise the quality, value, and the sheer beauty of the location. Casa Rubén is open for lunch only, Thursday to Monday from March to October (and Thursday to Sunday the rest of the year). Reservations are essential, and the menu is served to the whole table – no vegetarian or children’s alternatives are available. It is a singular experience, crafted for those who seek the best of contemporary cuisine in one of Spain’s most dramatic landscapes.
