The story

Steki: Mediterranean, Mexican & Greek Fusion in Alicante – Michelin Recommended

Steki, meaning "meeting point" in Greek, is the realisation of a shared vision between maître Olivia Papachristou and chef Fernando Gámez. She brings Greek roots, he brings Mexican heritage, and together they craft a cuisine that marries Mediterranean produce with the distinct accents of their homelands.

The restaurant sits on Calle Argensola 8, in the old Barrio of Alicante, a stone's throw from the Central Market. The space is warm, with wood and original touches that invite lingering. The menu is a sequence of shared plates: feta mousse with smoked sardine and green tomato, octopus with broccoli and Idiazábal cheese, or cheek with white beans and guajillo chile. Each dish nods to either Greek or Mexican tradition, yet the balance feels entirely its own.

A minimum of five plates per two diners encourages a leisurely tasting experience. Michelin recognised this confident fusion with a Recommended status for 2026, noting the clarity of the cooking. Desserts like turrón with yogurt and pumpkin, or chocolate cake with corn, peanut, and tequila, complete the journey. Steki is a meeting point indeed – for flavours, cultures, and the pleasure of a shared table.
