The story
Perched within the ADRIAN Hoteles Jardines de Nivaria in Costa Adeje, La Cúpula brings a refined approach to dining on Tenerife's southwest coast. The restaurant's name nods to its distinctive domed ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of the Atlantic Ocean, setting an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere for dinner.
Chef Rubén Cabrera has led the kitchen since 2007, bringing together Canarian ingredients and French technique with an avant-garde spirit. His cooking is rooted in product and seasonality, but he is clear about what drives him: “What I really like is creativity, innovating in the kitchen and making each dish unique.” That philosophy translates into plates that are recognisably his – a personal “marca,” as he puts it, that regulars identify at first glance.
Rather than a traditional à la carte, La Cúpula offers two curated experiences. The Menú Gastronómico is a ten-course walk through the kitchen’s full palette of innovation and elegance. The Menú La Cúpula distils the same philosophy into six courses, designed to introduce the restaurant’s defining creativity, technique and sourcing. Both are accompanied by a wine list that reaches across the Canary Islands and beyond.
The restaurant’s commitment to precision and service has earned it a recommendation from the Michelin Guide (2026), along with a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2025, where it placed eighth among the best restaurants in southern Tenerife. Guests frequently mention the “professional and attentive” service, the “exquisite presentation” and the way the team makes each diner feel personally cared for – a sentiment that Cabrera values above any accolade: “I see it as personal satisfaction when clients come to enjoy the food and leave happy.”
La Cúpula is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with a smart dress code and advance reservations recommended.
