The story

Chef Rafa Zafra, trained at renowned restaurants including Arzak and elBullihotel, brings his signature style to this elegant space within the century-old El Palace Barcelona. The menu reflects his love for ingredients like caviar and oysters, while also paying homage to the classics of the former Ritz kitchen and traditional Catalan cuisine.
The cooking here is varied and precise. Methods range from raw and marinated preparations to salted, steamed, fried, and stewed dishes. The most extensive part of the menu features items cooked over charcoal, where the quality of the product—guided by seasonality and origin—takes center stage. This commitment to contemporary Catalan cooking has earned the restaurant a Michelin recommendation, a fitting nod to its refined yet grounded approach.
The dining room itself balances the history of a landmark building with a modern sensibility. Designed by Elena Prats and Eva Pous, the interior uses shades of blue and golden accents to evoke a luxurious, palatial atmosphere. For a more casual experience, the bar offers a menu of oysters, caviar, raw dishes, and grilled items à la carte, all paired with an interesting wine list. A private room is also available, accommodating up to twelve guests for intimate lunches or dinners.
