The story
In the heart of Barcelona’s L’Antiga Esquerra de L’Eixample, Besta brings together the culinary traditions of Catalonia and Galicia. The kitchen cooks between two seas—the Atlantic and the Mediterranean—offering seafood and fish with a distinctive personal touch.
Chef Manu Núñez, previously known for his work at Arume, leads the restaurant. The menu changes constantly, reflecting the best of both regions. Two tasting menus guide the experience: the Degustación with nine courses (78€) and the Festival with twelve courses (95€). Both begin with a series of small bites before moving into a progression of plates, a pre-dessert, and a final dessert.
Besta’s approach is one of renewal. The restaurant updates its menu regularly, keeping the offerings fresh and tied to the seasons. Press coverage from ABC, 20 Minutos, and La Vanguardia has highlighted this commitment to change and the fusion of Galician and Catalan cuisines.
The space itself is designed for comfort, with air conditioning, outdoor seating, and the option for private parties. It serves lunch and dinner, and the atmosphere is welcoming without pretense.
Besta has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition that aligns with its dedication to quality and originality. The restaurant’s cuisine is firmly rooted in the contemporary Catalan tradition, but with a clear Atlantic influence that sets it apart.
Whether you come for a leisurely lunch or an evening meal, Besta offers a genuine encounter with the flavors of two coasts, prepared with skill and a respect for the ingredients.
