The story
In Barcelona’s Eixample district, Imprevisto turns dinner into an act of trust. The name means “unexpected,” and that is precisely what the kitchen delivers: no à la carte, no advance choices – just a sequence of courses built around market and seasonal produce. The restaurant describes it as “the authentic Imprevisto effect,” and it has earned a spot in the Michelin Guide for 2026.
The space is modern and sophisticated, with two distinct ways to experience the meal. In the main dining room, guests settle in for either a seven-course (72 €) or ten-course (85 €) degustation, both available with optional wine pairings. For a more immersive evening, the Chef’s Bar – a counter facing the open kitchen – seats two and includes the ten-course menu with pairing (140 € per person). Whichever option you choose, the kitchen adapts to allergies and dietary restrictions if notified at booking.
The cooking is rooted in contemporary cuisine: creative yet grounded in high-quality ingredients. Each plate celebrates the union of technique and product, and the surprise element keeps the focus on what is in front of you rather than what comes next. The atmosphere is relaxed enough to feel welcoming, refined enough to feel special.
Imprevisto is open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday, and for both lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and offers air conditioning, private parties, and vegan options. It is a place that asks you to let go of control – and rewards you for doing so.
