The story
Vivanda’s story is tied to the Sarrià neighborhood. Run by Jordi Vilà and Gabi Calzado, the restaurant offers a Catalan kitchen that embraces the Mediterranean – simple, precise, and served in tapas and small plates designed for sharing. The atmosphere is cordial and close, drawing a local, family-oriented clientele who appreciate good food.
One of the few places in Barcelona where you can enjoy a meal in a garden, Vivanda feels removed from the city’s tension. The setting reinforces the restaurant’s philosophy: honest cooking, generous portions, and a warm welcome. This consistent quality earned Vivanda a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition that aligns with its commitment to straightforward, well-executed Catalan cuisine.
Adjacent to the restaurant, at number 130 on the same street, the team runs Va de Cuina, a takeaway shop offering some of their most classic dishes, house-made preserves, and ferments. It’s a natural extension of Vivanda’s approach – bringing the same care and flavour into everyday meals.
