The story
At La Suculenta in Benicàssim, the motto is "Taste the Unexpected." The restaurant describes its cuisine as ineffable — something familiar yet surprising, known and unknown at the same time. This is the foundation of a dining experience that balances tradition with a contemporary edge.
Behind the stove is Jorge Lengua, a young chef with an impressive trajectory. After graduating from Gasma, he trained in some of Spain's most celebrated Michelin-starred kitchens: Cal Paradis, Ricard Camarena Restaurant, Quique Dacosta, and Aponiente. In Benicàssim, he has built a restaurant with a Mediterranean soul, driven by a commitment to honest, market-driven cooking where flavour is the ultimate goal.
Lengua’s talent has earned him several accolades: Cocinero Revelación CV 2022, champion of La Trufa de Andilla 2023, and finalist in competitions such as Arrocero del Futuro 2023. In 2026, his work was recognised with a Michelin Recommendation, a testament to the restaurant's consistent quality.
The offering includes a gastronomic carta and several tasting menus: the Golosa, the Ejecutivo (weekday lunch only), and the Fin de Semana (weekend and holiday lunch). Rice dishes are a highlight and must be ordered in advance, reflecting the chef's respect for traditional Mediterranean staples. The wine list, or bodega, rounds out the experience.
The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, designed for guests to linger over a meal that feels both personal and polished. Private parties are possible, and outdoor seating is available. Whether for lunch or dinner, La Suculenta invites you to savour the unexpected — a contemporary take on the flavours of the Mediterranean coast.
