The story
On the edge of Cala'n Bosch marina, Godai offers a dining experience that bridges Menorca and Japan. Chef Julián Mármol, who holds a Michelin star at his Madrid restaurant Yugo the Bunker, defines his approach in one word: "Pureza." His cooking is a fusion without confusion—Japanese techniques applied to the finest Menorcan ingredients, each dish built around the primary product, enhanced but never masked.
The restaurant's setting is relaxed and elegant: outdoor seating under the stars with views across the water, a private room for more intimate gatherings, and a notable sake list that complements the japo-menorquina flavours. Godai is an adults-only space (16+), designed for unhurried evenings.
The tasting menu is described as "radically honest," a journey from Menorca to Japan where every bite speaks of origin, texture, and emotion. An exclusive à la carte menu offers a broader selection for summer nights, paired with carefully chosen cocktails. The wine and sake cellar is curated to harmonise with the kitchen's precise, ingredient-led cooking.
Godai earned a place in the Michelin Guide's 2026 selection, recognition of its singular vision. The entire team comes from the Michelin-starred Yugo The Bunker, guaranteeing a level of execution that is both rigorous and deeply personal. This is Japanese Contemporary cuisine rooted in the biodiversity and gastronomic richness of Menorca—a restaurant that lets the product speak, clearly and beautifully.
