The story
Casa 887, recognised by the Michelin guide for 2026, is the project of chef Antonio Belotti. Brazilian-born, Belotti’s career passed through the kitchens of Francis Mallmann, Pedro Irizar and the Basque Culinary Center before he settled in Donostia. His cooking is guided by a simple, rigorous idea: to cook in order to question. Each dish is a doubt resolved, a process of stripping away what is unnecessary until only what matters remains. Tradition is present, but interrogated.
Belotti draws his name and inspiration from the house number of his childhood home in São Paulo, the address where food was a tool for gathering people. At Casa 887, that same spirit of connection drives a contemporary fusion cuisine that respects origin and technique. The team works with seasonal product, market rhythm, and a commitment to precision and balance. The result are menus that change with the season: a Signature menu and a Journey menu, both designed to be enjoyed without artifice. The wine list is built with the same ethos—respect for the land, small producers, and a desire to accompany the plate and the moment.
The restaurant is located within the five-star Hotel Villa Favorita, on the Paseo de La Concha, directly overlooking Donostia’s famous bay. The bar of the hotel offers a lighter, more informal alternative, with quality local produce, simple sharing plates, and a careful cocktail selection. Whether for a full tasting menu or a relaxed drink, Casa 887 presents an experience that is both elegant and honest.
