Atelier Casa de Comidas: A Contemporary Casa de Comidas in Granada

Atelier Casa de Comidas, a contemporary restaurant in Granada, has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. Chef Raúl Sierra describes his philosophy simply: “gastronomy is the art of using products to create happiness.” This idea runs through every dish and every detail of the space, a welcoming “house” where guests are encouraged to feel at home.

The Chef’s Journey

Raúl Sierra worked as head chef in several restaurants before taking on a professional challenge in Belgium. There, he added new ingredients to his memory-driven “cocina de la memoria.” In 2017 he returned to Granada and opened Atelier in a small location on Callejón del Ángel. In 2020, the restaurant moved to a larger, more modern space on Calle Sos del Rey Católico, allowing the team to offer an even better experience to its loyal clientele.

Philosophy and Atmosphere

The restaurant’s core is that of a “casa de comidas” – a simple, contemporary eatery centered on seasonal products. “Time spent cooking is an investment in culinary pleasure,” the team states, and the wine cellar – described as “poetry in a bottle” – is chosen to accompany each meal perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and hospitable, with a passionate, professional team in both kitchen and dining room. Guests can choose counter dining, outdoor seating, or private parties, always in an air-conditioned space that balances modern design with comfort.

The Menu: Seasonal and Personal

The menu changes regularly to follow the seasons. Among the standouts are dishes like Maigre fish tartar with Codium seaweed, coconut, basil and lime; Motril Shrimp Carpaccio with cauliflower ajo blanco, kefir pearls, and cardamom oil; and charcoal-grilled sea bass (robata style) with wakame emulsion, confit leek, and roasted lemon beurre blanc. For those wanting the full experience, the seasonal tasting menu offers nine courses – from fermented tomato with sturgeon to roasted guinea fowl cannelloni and a rum savarin cake – all for €60 per person. The menu also includes a children’s option, ensuring every guest finds something to enjoy.

A Local Gem with Global Reach

Atelier Casa de Comidas is a testament to how contemporary cuisine can honor its roots while embracing influences from abroad. Chef Sierra’s time in Belgium left a clear mark, yet the heart of the cooking stays firmly in Granada. The result is a restaurant that feels both personal and polished – a place where happiness, simplicity, and seasonal ingredients come together on the plate. The Michelin Recommended award simply confirms what regulars already know: this is one of Granada’s most compelling contemporary dining experiences.
