The story
In the historic Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Rêver is the project of chef Fernando Rodríguez de la Coba. The name means “to dream” in French, and the experience is designed to awaken each of the senses. The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a nod to its precise, ingredient-driven cooking.
Chef Rodríguez de la Coba draws from the discipline of French haute cuisine, but his outlook is broad. The kitchen weaves flashes of other culinary traditions into a style that is unmistakably his own. At the core is a deep respect for the product — ingredients sourced from growers, breeders, and fishers who share the restaurant’s commitment to quality. “The product is the protagonist,” the team states. “We simply accompany it.”
The cooking at Rêver is unfiltered. There are no unnecessary complications, only the pure expression of carefully selected Mediterranean and International ingredients. Each plate is presented with an imperturbable elegance that matches the quality of the raw materials. The result is a meal that feels both refined and honest — a place where technique serves flavour, not the other way around.
Rêver occupies a comfortable space on Calle Armas, open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. The atmosphere is welcoming, with air conditioning for warm Gran Canaria days, wheelchair access, and the ability to host private parties. Takeaway is also available. But the real draw is the food — and the quiet confidence of a chef who lets his ingredients speak for themselves.
