The story

Kamín: Modern Cuisine in León, Spain – Michelin Recommended

A personal project on Calle Regidores

In 2019, chef Mario Gómez Soria opened Kamín on Calle Regidores in León. The name is a tribute to his mother, Camino, whose home cooking sparked his early interest in food. After training and working in prestigious restaurants, Gómez felt the need to create his own space – one where he could fully express his ideas. The result is a restaurant with an open kitchen and a welcoming dining room, designed for the enjoyment of guests.

Seasonal, market-driven menus

Kamín’s cuisine is described by the chef as conceptual, creative, traveler, and traditional. The kitchen changes its offerings weekly, based on fresh market produce and seasonal ingredients, always prioritizing local and regional suppliers. Two tasting menus are available: the Menú Origen (€68) focuses on elaborations rooted in local origins and traditions, while the Menú Kamín (€85) leans into more creative, cross-cultural influences. Both include mineral water and house-made bread, and are served to the whole table. The restaurant does not offer vegetarian or vegan adaptations, as meat and fish are central to the concept.

Recognition and atmosphere

Kamín has earned a place in the Michelin Guide (Recommended) and two Repsol Soles – a reflection of the precision and personality in Gómez’s cooking. The dining room is calm and intimate, with counter seating and table service. The open kitchen lets guests watch the team at work. The restaurant also runs a dessert shop, La Postrería, on Calle Ancha, and produces its own piquillo ketchup, a versatile sauce that started as an accompaniment for their signature low-temperature eggs.
