The story
Pahissa del Mas ... is set within Mas Pou, a 14th-century country house in Pals that has been in the Pericay family for seven generations. Surrounded by rice paddies that have been cultivated since the 15th century, the restaurant is deeply rooted in the landscape. The family’s connection to the land is the heart of the project, and the dining room is housed within the original family house, offering an intimate setting that reflects the estate’s history.
Chef Jordi Vallespi brings a long and recognised culinary trajectory to the kitchen. His philosophy is one of proximity and respect: he works with the finest local products, letting their essence guide each dish. The menu changes every season, offering a blend of traditional Catalan flavours and creative touches. The restaurant’s care for detail is evident in every plate, from the sourcing of ingredients to the presentation. A tasting menu allows guests to experience the full range of seasonal ingredients.
The estate’s own rice is a highlight, grown in the fields that surround the restaurant. This direct link to the land gives the cooking a distinct sense of place. Pahissa del Mas ... has been recognised with a Michelin Recommended distinction, placing it among the notable tables of the Costa Brava.
