The story
Cepa 21 Restaurante occupies one of the emblematic wineries of the Ribera del Duero, just outside Peñafiel. The space is minimalist and functional, with several versatile rooms that open onto views of the surrounding vineyards. It is a setting that lets the landscape and the food speak for themselves.
Chef Alberto Soto leads the kitchen with a clear philosophy: to rescue the traditional flavours of Castilla y León while applying the latest culinary techniques. His cooking is built around seasonal, fresh, locally sourced produce. The result is plates that surprise in texture, flavour and presentation — rooted in tradition yet unmistakably modern. This approach to Modern Cuisine has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction, a mark of the consistency and quality found here.
Before the main meal, guests are welcomed in the Wine Bar, a space with strong character where one can enjoy an aperitif and a glass of Ribera del Duero wine. The restaurant also caters to private events and offers outdoor seating when the weather allows. Whether for a quiet lunch or a special gathering, the atmosphere is relaxed and direct, with the vineyard as a constant backdrop.
