The story
In the town of Pinoso, El Racó de Pere i Pepa offers an updated traditional Mediterranean cuisine that carries the character of inland Alicante. This is a place rich in rice dishes but equally suggestive in meats, fish, and seafood. The restaurant has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its good quality, good value cooking — a recognition that reflects the care put into every plate.
The story begins in 2009, when Pedro and Pepa decided to open their own restaurant and embark on an adventure they still enjoy as if it were the first day. Pedro is the chef in charge of the kitchen and creator of the menu; Pepa is the head waitress, responsible for making sure everything goes perfectly. Together, they strive to offer the best gastronomic experience, taking care of each guest as they deserve.
The kitchen relies on a measured and careful elaboration. Technique and mastery are essential, as is the use of top quality fresh food from the region and other parts of the country. The result: a varied gastronomic offer with unique and exquisite flavors. Guests are invited to let themselves be seduced by a selection of dishes with special “arreglitos” — small arrangements that showcase the cuisine’s personality.
Beyond the daily menu, El Racó de Pere i Pepa organizes annual thematic gastronomic days starring different land and sea products. These include Galician seafood (lobster, oysters, crab), Segovian suckling pig, Mediterranean seafood (red shrimp, shrimp, crayfish), and black truffle — each paired with carefully selected wines. The atmosphere is warm, designed to make you feel at home, with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
