The story
Kamezí stands on the waterfront of Playa Blanca, its terraces open to the sky and the Atlantic. The restaurant earned a Michelin star in 2026 and a Repsol Sol, recognition for a project that is, in the restaurant’s own words, a “gastronomic creation committed to tradition, innovation and the essence of Lanzarote’s product.” The cuisine reinterprets the island’s recipes through a contemporary lens, respecting the flavours, the cultural memory and the volcanic territory.
The tasting menu is the fullest expression of this approach. It connects the marine and volcanic environments of Lanzarote, drawing on ingredients such as gamba de La Santa, vieja (parrotfish), burgaos (sea snails), gofio, batata (sweet potato) and local cheeses. Dishes listed include a tartare of goat, smoked bonito, a berlina de mar, and a caldo marinero. The menu changes according to market availability and is priced at 180€. Two optional wine pairings are offered: a Canarian selection and a Discovery pairing (95€ each).
The wine cellar is supervised by the house sommelier and spans more than 50 countries, yet begins with the small growers of Lanzarote. The list is described as a “wine journey that celebrates the diversity of five continents,” and the pairing options are designed to mirror the island’s volcanic minerality and the freshness of the sea.
The restaurant is built in symbiosis with its surroundings – volcanic rock, native plants, open views to the sea. Interior and exterior blur, creating a calm, airy atmosphere that feels connected to the landscape. The space is as much a part of the experience as the plate, a deliberate choice that reinforces the restaurant’s commitment to place and season.
