The story
In December 2017, chef Samuel Naveira returned to his roots in Ponferrada, in the heart of the Bierzo region, to open Mu•na. The name means “desire” in Galician – the longing to satisfy a taste. From the start, the restaurant has been a deeply personal project: a way to showcase the potential of the local land, its seasonal products, and the small producers who cultivate them. Naveira’s cooking is grounded in this sense of place, but he interprets it with a modern, global perspective that has earned the restaurant a Michelin star.
