The story
In the small town of Llívia, just outside Puigcerdà, Restaurant Trumfes offers a menu rooted in Catalan cuisine that changes with the seasons. The kitchen works with high-quality, seasonal produce, dividing the offering into sections: starters, fish, meat, suggestions, and a tasting menu. Each part is thoughtfully composed, allowing diners to choose what appeals most on the day.
The wine list at Trumfes holds more than 150 references, spanning Catalan DOs, the rest of Spain, and a few from France. The selection is designed to accompany every course, with sparkling, white, rosé, red, and sweet wines all represented. The cellar is a point of pride, tended with care to ensure each bottle is served at its best.
The restaurant accommodates both intimate meals and larger gatherings. For groups of nine to sixteen, a private dining room in the bodega is available (note that it is accessed by stairs). Pets are welcome as long as they remain in a carrier bag.
Trumfes’s commitment to quality Catalan cuisine has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a mark of its consistent, careful cooking in the heart of the Cerdanya region.
