The story
In the heart of Reus, chef Ferran Cerro runs a kitchen that is both rooted in tradition and boldly forward-looking. His cooking is built on the combination of flavours and textures, working with market-fresh, seasonal produce. The result is a style of cuisine that is recognisably his own: precise, inventive, and deeply satisfying.
Ferran Cerro was born in Reus in 1988. His early career took him through some of Spain’s most celebrated kitchens, including El Celler de Can Roca, Arzak, and Sant Pau de Carme Ruscalleda. He spent five years as head chef for Sergi Arola and, in 2016, served as head chef for Nandu Jubany. In 2017, he opened his first small restaurant on Carrer de Sant Joan in Reus, and within two years, the space had become too small. In 2020, coinciding with his first Sol Repsol award, Cerro moved to the current location on Plaça del Castell, bringing his core team with him.
The restaurant’s recognition has grown steadily. It was named Revelation Restaurant 2021 by the Guía Gourmand and has been consistently mentioned in the Michelin Guide, earning the Michelin Recommended status that continues to be renewed. The Sol Repsol has also been renewed each year since 2020.
The menu is structured around choice. Diners can select from three formats: the S menu (available at lunch Tuesday to Friday), the M menu, and the L menu. Each begins with welcome snacks and petit fours, followed by a sequence of starters, main courses (fish, meat, or rice), and desserts. The cooking is direct, ingredient-led, and designed to be shared and enjoyed. The wine list is extensive and carefully curated.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday. The atmosphere is refined but welcoming, the service attentive. Private dining and catering are available upon request. The space is wheelchair accessible.
