The story
In the small village of Gombrèn, in the province of Girona, La Fonda Xesc occupies a historic house dating back to 1730. From its very origins, this building was destined to be the village inn, and despite new trends, it resists losing its most traditional meaning. The result is a restaurant that feels deeply rooted in place.
The kitchen at La Fonda Xesc is defined by its own words: autochthonous, simple, and aromatic. This approach to modern cuisine, grounded in local ingredients and direct flavors, earned the restaurant its first Michelin star in 2009. The recognition is a testament to the clarity of their vision, not a departure from it.
Surrounded by a landscape of incomparable beauty, the inn offers 14 comfortable rooms for those who wish to linger. The area is filled with history, legends, and medieval memories, making a meal here an opportunity to experience both the food and the environment. Open for lunch Thursday through Sunday and for dinner on Friday and Saturday, La Fonda Xesc invites you to share in a tradition that has been refined over centuries.
