The story
At the edge of the Ebro Delta Natural Park, L'Algadir del Delta is both a hotel and a restaurant rooted in the landscape around it. The kitchen, led by chef Joan Capilla, focuses on what the restaurant calls “cocina autóctona regenerativa” — cooking that uses ingredients from the immediate territory and supports the local ecosystem. Rice from the Delta, duck from the region, and market vegetables define the menu.
The restaurant earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026, a recognition for good quality, good value cooking. It also holds a Gastronòmic certification from the Generalitat de Catalunya, awarded in 2014. The dining room is air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible, and opens onto outdoor seating when the weather allows.
Standout dishes center on rice — the Delta is famous for it — and duck, prepared with honest, direct technique. The kitchen avoids unnecessary flourishes, letting the product speak. For a more informal meal, the adjacent Bistró del Delta offers a shorter menu of arroces, cocas, croquetas, and grilled fish, all built from the same local sourcing philosophy.
L'Algadir del Delta also runs cooking workshops and birdwatching excursions, connecting guests to the rich biodiversity of the delta. The restaurant is pet-friendly and can accommodate private parties. Breakfast is served daily, and dinner is the main meal.
