The story
For more than thirty years, Es Boldado has held its ground on the cliff above Cala d'Hort beach in Sant Josep de sa Talaia. The restaurant, now run by the Tur Torres family, faces the dramatic islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell. It is a place where the Mediterranean sets both the menu and the mood.
The kitchen specialises in seafood, with a particular focus on fish and shellfish. Two dishes stand out on the menu: bullit de peix, a traditional Ibizan fish stew, and salmorras, a local preparation of fish or seafood in a rich, spiced sauce. Arroces (rice dishes) are also a strength, and the meal can be finished with a selection of house-made desserts. The family keeps the cooking simple and direct, letting the quality of the catch speak for itself.
The setting is part of the experience. Perched above the sea, the restaurant offers uninterrupted views across the water to the rocky outlines of Es Vedrà. Outdoor seating takes full advantage of this, while air conditioning provides comfort on warmer days. Parking is available, and the team can recommend wine pairings to match the meal.
Es Boldado's consistent quality has earned it a place in the Michelin guide for 2026, a recognition of its steadfast commitment to Ibiza's seafood traditions. It is a restaurant that has earned its reputation over decades, not seasons.
