The story

Laudat Santanyí: Michelin Recommended Mediterranean Dining in Mallorca

In the heart of Santanyí, a stone town on the southeast coast of Mallorca, Restaurant Laudat has built a reputation for cooking that balances precision with warmth. The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition that aligns with its stated philosophy: "love for cooking and good wine."

Chef Miquel Laudat and his team prepare dishes that feel both thoughtful and grounded. The tasting menu, priced at 90 euros with an optional wine pairing for 35 euros, offers a clear window into their approach. It opens with snacks, then moves through a red shrimp tartare with sea fennel pilpil and green apple, followed by confit artichoke with celeriac cream and cured egg yolk. A grilled sea bass fillet with mussel and tomato fumet comes next, then beef cheek braised in red wine with corn purée and rosemary. Dessert is a strawberry soup with mint granita.

The à la carte menu and wine list are equally considered. Laudat maintains a cellar of over 100 references from Mallorca, Spain, and beyond, and also produces its own wines—a sparkling, a white, a rosé, and a red—made in collaboration with local wineries such as Armero i Adrover and 4 Kilos. Guests can buy bottles to take home from the restaurant's shop.

Atmosphere is understated but deliberate. The dining room and terrace are designed so that guests feel "like being at home," as the restaurant puts it, while still receiving attentive service. The space accommodates groups and large tables, and the terrace makes the most of Mallorca's climate.

Beyond the restaurant, Laudat offers catering services, including private chef dinners in clients' homes. The team describes this as a return to "old traditions, simple dishes with classic flavors that remind us of the aroma of our grandparents' kitchen." It is a sentiment that carries through everything they do: Mediterranean cuisine rooted in the island, executed with care, and backed by a serious wine program.
