The story
Since opening in June 2016, A Maceta has made its home on Rúa de San Pedro, right in the historic heart of Santiago de Compostela. The restaurant’s name is a nod to the Galician word for “flowerpot,” and the space itself feels like a welcoming, rooted place — with an interior garden and a comfortable dining room that invites you to slow down.
The kitchen is led by Jorge Gago, whose team works with seasonal produce sourced from local suppliers, including the nearby Mercado de Abastos. The menu changes regularly to reflect what’s fresh, drawing on international influences while staying grounded in honest, straightforward cooking. This is fusion cuisine that doesn’t chase trends — it lets ingredients, colours and textures speak for themselves.
A Maceta’s recognition as a Michelin Recommended restaurant reflects the consistency and care behind the stove. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, the guiding philosophy is simple: good food, good company. The restaurant also offers outdoor seating, private parties and a carefully curated wine list to accompany the meal.
In a city known for pilgrimage and tradition, A Maceta offers a different kind of experience — one that blends global flavours with Galician warmth, and always leaves room for another visit.
