The story
On Avenida de la Gran Via in Sóller, Ca'n Boqueta occupies a typical Mallorcan house with stone floors, high ceilings, and an interior patio that looks out to the Serra de Tramuntana. The setting is as authentic as the cooking—a restaurant rooted in its place, not in trends.
The kitchen follows a simple philosophy, borrowed from Paul Bocuse: "Classic or modern, there is only one cuisine... the good one." That translates into seasonal menus built around local, sustainable ingredients. The restaurant works with Mallorcan suppliers and lets the island's Mediterranean heritage guide its recipes.
The tasting menu changes every two weeks, offered at night, on weekends, and on holidays. It is designed to surprise, showcasing what is fresh and in season. For a more informal midday meal, there is a weekly lunch menu served Tuesday through Saturday. Both approaches share the same confident, character-driven cooking.
A few dishes stand out on the menu. The Arroz de Marisco features Gamba Roja from Sóller, a local red shrimp that inspires many of the kitchen's recipes. The Porcella Confitada—confit suckling pig—brings a traditional Mallorcan meat together with the subtle richness of foie. And the restaurant's Tortilla Española, made with organic eggs, Ibérico ham, and truffle, is a simple thing done exceptionally well.
Ca'n Boqueta holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, awarded for good quality, good value cooking. The recognition fits: this is modern cuisine that respects its roots, delivered without pretension in a space that feels both timeless and alive.
