The story
In the Pallars region, where the air smells different and the landscape changes colour daily, Claudia Gozzi and Jaime Bes found their home. The couple, whose careers were forged in kitchens like Koy Shunka, Dos Palillos, Mugaritz and Pur, created El Raier as their first personal project. It is a restaurant that listens to the land.
"We arrived in Pallars looking for air, light, and a life we could feel our own," they write. The region taught them to look beyond, to hear the rhythm of nature. Their cooking is a direct expression of that connection: honest, contemporary cuisine rooted in the territory, built on respect for the product and the craft.
The Michelin guide recognised this clarity with a Bib Gourmand, an award that celebrates good quality, good value cooking. It is a fitting acknowledgement for a kitchen that works with humility and gratitude, letting the ingredients speak.
The space itself is intimate, with counter dining that brings guests close to the action. Every plate reflects the seasons of Pallars, from the wind that comes down the mountain to the people who work the fields. At El Raier, the happiness of good food only makes sense when it is shared.
