The story
In Ulldecona, at the foot of the Sierra del Montsià and near the Natural Park of Els Ports de Tortosa-Beceite, Bistró Amunt is a daily-menu restaurant from Chef Vicent Guimerà. Conceived as a more accessible counterpart to the nearby Antic Molí, it offers a straightforward, territory-driven lunch (and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays) that has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its good quality and good value cooking.
The kitchen works with what the land and sea provide. Vegetables come from their own regenerative agriculture garden, meat from small-scale organic-certified livestock farmers, and fish from the auction at La Ràpita, on the Ebro Delta. The result is a menu that changes with the seasons and stays close to the surrounding region—the Terra Alta, the Sénia area, and the Ebro Delta itself.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, open to couples, families, and large groups alike. It is also a practical stop for travel agencies exploring the Terres de l’Ebre. The space is simple, unpretentious, and shaped by a philosophy of cooking that is both healthy and rooted in the territory—what the team describes as “comemos territorio.”
Open for lunch Wednesday through Sunday, and for dinner on Friday and Saturday, Bistró Amunt is a place for everyday eating that does not sacrifice integrity for price, and where the ingredient’s origin is the starting point for every dish.
