The story
On Avenida Burjassot in Valencia, Ricard Camarena Restaurant occupies a space within the Bombas Gens Centre d’Arts Digitals. The cooking here is personal, driven by a constant search for flavour. As the restaurant describes it, the cuisine is “simple in appearance, but complicated in its execution,” using innovative techniques that are felt on the palate rather than seen on the plate.
The kitchen is deeply committed to the territory. Most ingredients come from nearby producers, and with vegetables and greens, the dialogue between chef and farmer extends to shared decisions about sowing, cultivation, and harvest. This sustainable relationship between the restaurant, the producer, and the land is the foundation of the cooking. The result is a proposal that is essential, acidic, fresh, and deeply respectful of the product.
This commitment to the local landscape and to a sustainable, plant-forward approach has earned the restaurant two Michelin stars, as well as a Michelin Green Star. The recognition is a natural extension of a kitchen that works with the resources of Valencia’s huerta (orchard) and sea.
Three tasting menus are offered. The Ricard Camarena Experience (€250) is the most complete and extensive, gathering the work of recent years alongside new seasonal dishes. The Recorrido Ricard Camarena (€220) presents the chef’s culinary journey. The Menú Carta (€175) offers a more flexible format with three fixed starters, then a choice of main and dessert. Wine pairings and non-alcoholic accompaniments are available for each.
The experience is described as an analogy of the cooking itself: it adapts day by day, sometimes hour by hour, as time delicately transforms the composition, revealing new elements. The restaurant is open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays, and for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
