The story
In December 2014, Es Arraïtzes opened its doors in Garòs, a small village in the Vall d’Aran, near Vielha. The restaurant brings a distinct vision of Peruvian cuisine to the Pyrenees, guided by chef César Mory. Originally from the Peruvian jungle, Mory builds his cooking around local, high-quality products, fusing them with ingredients from his homeland. The result is creative, colourful dishes that retain the essence of Peruvian tradition.
The restaurant occupies a spot in one of the valley’s prettiest villages, and its approach has earned a Michelin Recommended award, placing it among the notable tables in Catalonia. The menu reflects a fusion of two worlds, with recipes inspired by the surrounding landscape and the chef’s roots. Beyond the main dining room, Es Arraïtzes also operates Tinku Gastrobar in Vielha, a separate space where this cross-cultural fusion takes on a new dimension.
The setting is relaxed, with outdoor seating available and a private room for groups. Open year-round (closed Wednesdays), the kitchen serves lunch from 13:30 and dinner from 20:00. Reservations are recommended, especially in advance.
