The story
"Without tradition, there is no avant-garde." This conviction defines Maruja Limón, a contemporary restaurant in Vigo that earned its first Michelin star in the 2026 guide. The team cooks from memory—"cocinamos recuerdos," they say—revisiting Galicia’s culinary past with a playful, modern hand. The result is a cuisine that feels personal and precise, where familiar flavours are reframed through texture and contrast to stir something deeper than taste.
Maruja Limón offers two distinct tasting journeys. The Menú Esencia Maruja walks guests through three appetisers, six savoury plates and three desserts, finished with petits fours. For a more expansive experience, the Menú Maruja en Estado Puro adds an extra savoury dish and a fourth dessert. Both menus can be taken with or without a wine pairing, letting each course speak in conversation with the glass.
On Montero Ríos in central Vigo, the restaurant opens Wednesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. The dining room includes counter seating, spaces for private events and an outdoor terrace. Full table service, a dedicated wine bar, and amenities such as air conditioning, wheelchair access and Wi‑Fi make it comfortable for any occasion. Takeaway and catering are also offered.
The contemporary cuisine at Maruja Limón is never disconnected from its roots. By cooking memories, the kitchen honours tradition while earning an emblem of excellence—a Michelin star that reflects both skill and soul.
