The story
On a quiet estate in Sant Martí Sarroca, just outside Vilafranca del Penedès, Casa Nova offers a dining experience rooted in flavour and responsibility. Chef Andrés Torres, a journalist who worked in Latin America, Africa and Asia before opening his own restaurant, leads a kitchen that earned a Michelin star in 2025 – and the Michelin Green Star for its commitment to sustainability.
The kitchen works with local, organic ingredients, reducing waste and supporting ethical practices. The result is a modern cuisine that respects the Penedès landscape. Diners choose from tasting menus – Gran Verema and Vinya – that change with the season. The restaurant also houses its own wine cellar and a private lounge for more intimate gatherings.
What sets Casa Nova apart is how its success fuels action beyond the kitchen. Torres founded the NGO Global Humanitaria and has led relief missions in Gaza, Ukraine, Morocco, Lebanon, Syria and, most recently, Valencia after the DANA floods. The restaurant’s tips are donated to the organisation, and solidarity four-hands dinners have raised over €60,000 for Gaza. As Torres puts it, the humanitarian mission never ends.
Casa Nova is more than a fine-dining destination. It is a place where every plate carries a story of place, care and purpose. Whether you come for the Michelin-starred modern cuisine or the quiet conviction behind it, the meal stays with you.
