The story
High in the Bernese Oberland, the restaurant Belle Vue at the Bellevue Parkhotel & Spa offers a dining experience that matches its spectacular setting. For over 120 years, this family-run hotel has welcomed guests, and its kitchen has earned a reputation for creative, contemporary cooking with 14 GaultMillau points and a Michelin Recommended award.
The cuisine is rooted in the seasons, a modern take on classic cuisine that lets the quality of the ingredients speak. Under the direction of chef Jiri Urban, who has worked in the Bellevue kitchen for twelve seasons, the team prepares dishes that are both refined and grounded. The food is served in a dining room that balances the hotel’s “Grand Old Lady” charm with clean, mid-century design – a sensitive renovation by Basel architects Buchner Bründler.
Wine is a central passion here. The cellar holds over 600 labels, with a particular focus on Swiss and Burgundy wines. Marc Richard, the wine consultant and a member of the owner family, curates a list that includes sought-after producers like Domaine Dujac and Marie-Thérèse Chappaz, alongside hard-to-find treasures at fair prices. It is a destination for anyone who takes their pairing seriously.
Whether you come for a multi-course dinner in the main restaurant or a glass at the bar and lounge, Belle Vue delivers a warm, unhurried kind of luxury – exactly what you would expect from a Relais & Châteaux property that has been a fixture in Adelboden for more than a century.
