The story
IGNIV by Andreas Caminada in Bad Ragaz brings the celebrated “Art of Sharing” to the heart of the Swiss spa town. The restaurant belongs to a small family of locations – each with its own character, yet united by a single philosophy: imaginative dishes made to be shared, rooted in the region and open to the world. The name IGNIV comes from the Romansh word for “nest,” and the intent is exactly that – to make every guest feel as cared for as a bird in its nest.
The Bad Ragaz outpost holds two Michelin stars, a testament to the precision and creativity that defines the kitchen. The team here works from the flavour world of three-star chef Andreas Caminada, but brings its own regional touch. Menus unfold as a series of shareable courses – a departure from the traditional sequence that allows the kitchen to show many facets in one meal. Sommeliers select wines with a focus on large formats, and the interiors, designed by Patricia Urquiola, create a warm, enveloping atmosphere.
The restaurant is part of the IGNIV family, which also includes locations in Zürich, Andermatt, and Bangkok. In Bad Ragaz, the setting is more intimate, drawing on the calm of the Alpine surroundings. The Dine & Stay option pairs the dining experience with a hotel stay, making it easy to linger. Whether for lunch or dinner, the experience is one of generous, unfussy hospitality – fine dining that feels like a genuine invitation to share.
