The story
The name Haberbüni gives away its roots: this restaurant occupies a former hay barn attached to a late-19th-century farmhouse. Set in Liebefeld at the edge of Bern, the building has been a dining destination for almost three decades. Today, Palmira, Danilo and Dominic run the house, bringing what they call "100% Gniessä" – pure enjoyment – to every meal.
The interior is defined by its generous proportions. High ceilings, exposed wooden beams and a gallery create a sense of volume, yet soft sofas and warm lighting keep the space intimate. In warmer months, the garden becomes a small paradise with a pond and birdsong, offering a quiet escape just minutes from the city centre.
Haberbüni’s kitchen focuses on seasonal, modern cuisine. Guests choose between multi-course evening menus, popular lunch menus, and a small but enticing à la carte selection. The team emphasises affordable top-level gastronomy – refined cooking without pretension. Michelin has recognised this commitment with a Recommended award, acknowledging the consistent quality and thoughtful execution.
Whether for a business lunch, a celebratory dinner, or simply a glass of wine in the garden, Haberbüni delivers a distinctly Bernese take on seasonal modern cuisine.
