L'Agape in Geneva: Bib Gourmand Contemporary & Seasonal Cuisine

L'Agape: A Contemporary Table in Geneva

In the Carouge district of Geneva, L'Agape presents a clear and focused approach to dining. The restaurant’s name, meaning "love feast" or "brotherly love," hints at the warmth found within its walls. The team, led by Chef de Cuisine Jérémy Verqueire, crafts a menu that is both contemporary and seasonal, drawing its inspiration from the freshest ingredients of the moment.

The kitchen’s philosophy is evident in the "Printemps 2026" (Spring 2026) menu, which signals a dedication to the rhythms of the year. This commitment to quality and value has earned L'Agape a Bib Gourmand distinction from the Michelin Guide, a recognition for restaurants that offer good quality, good value cooking. The atmosphere is one of focused hospitality, managed by Clément Thellier and Damien Lopez, with Valentin Guido overseeing the service and wine list, ensuring a seamless experience from the first course to the last.

Beyond the restaurant’s walls, L'Agape has recently expanded its offerings with a new catering service, allowing guests to enjoy their seasonal cooking in a private setting. The restaurant also features a small boutique, and its outdoor seating provides a pleasant spot for lunch or dinner in the warmer months. Whether you are drawn by the Michelin accolade or the promise of a well-executed seasonal meal, L'Agape stands as a reliable and refined address in Geneva.

Its location in the "Quartier des Acacias," slightly outside the center of Carouge, hardly earns "L'Agape" any points. But its charming bistro-style setting, competent service, extensive wine list, and above all its excellent cuisine certainly do. Chef Jérémy Verqueire presents a small menu featuring a mix of regional and international dishes. During our winter visit, the scallops with a radish variation and savory dashi were delicious. For the confit pork, the chef served Jerusalem artichoke (fermented, as purée and chips), pomegranate seeds, a pomegranate reduction, along with strips and an emulsion of Colonnata lardo—well crafted, though perhaps a touch too much of a good thing. Conversely, we thoroughly enjoyed the less ambitious but excellent dessert, featuring chocolate ganache and a Sicilian pistachio emulsion.
