The story
At Osteria della Bottega, the kitchen is driven by a simple philosophy: quality over complexity. The restaurant’s own words speak of “love of raw materials, the research and care in selecting the most authentic products” as the foundation of the menu. This commitment to seasonal Italian cuisine is evident in every dish, from the daily handmade pasta – a point of pride – to the carefully sourced primeurs and Italian ingredients. The menu changes with the seasons, but signatures include fettuccine with beef ragù, ravioli filled with peas and burrata, and a tagliata of aged beef. The kitchen also offers a takeaway option, allowing guests to enjoy these flavours at home.
The interior of Osteria della Bottega is as thoughtful as its cooking. The furniture is the exclusive work of Sestini e Corti, a workshop based in an 18th-century Tuscan farmhouse. Reclaimed oak, chestnut, and fir planks, along with chipped travertine slabs and forgotten tiles, are repurposed into floors, ceilings, and original vessels. The result is a warm, rustic atmosphere that transports diners to the heart of the Italian countryside, right on Geneva’s Grand Rue. Outdoor seating is available when the weather allows, and the restaurant can host private parties.
Osteria della Bottega holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award that recognises good quality, good value cooking. It is a fitting nod to a restaurant that balances refined technique with genuine hospitality, offering a menu that is both accessible and deeply satisfying. The wine list, described as “interesting” by the Michelin guide, complements the food with thoughtful selections. Whether for lunch or dinner, this is a place where the Italian tradition of simplicity and passion is honoured plate after plate.
