The story

Ottolenghi Geneva: Mediterranean Dining on the Rhône | Mandarin Oriental

Ottolenghi Geneva

This is the first Ottolenghi restaurant to open outside the United Kingdom, bringing the celebrated chef’s signature approach to the banks of the Rhône in Geneva. Located within the Mandarin Oriental, the restaurant draws direct inspiration from the London original, ROVI, placing vegetables at the centre of every plate.

The menu stays true to Ottolenghi’s Mediterranean roots while highlighting local Swiss produce. Chef de Cuisine Maxime Martin, who trained under Ottolenghi’s Executive Chef Neil Campbell, brings a Swiss sensibility to the kitchen. Together, they have co-created a seasonal, sustainable menu built around fermentation and wood-fire cooking — a celebration of what vegetables, fire, and careful technique can bring to the table.

The interior, designed by Alex Meitlis, is warm and inviting. A grill takes centre stage, surrounded by natural wood accents, touches of deep red, and soft gold. Custom artworks inspired by the late Ivo Bisignano complete the space, which overlooks the river.

The restaurant has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a fitting recognition for a kitchen that balances authenticity with invention. It is a place to gather, share, and appreciate Mediterranean and World Cuisine that feels both grounded and adventurous.
