The story
SACHI brings Japanese contemporary cuisine to the heart of Geneva, set along the Rhône riverbank at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva. The dining room and terrace overlook the water, offering an atmosphere that combines urban elegance with the calm of a riverside escape. The Michelin Guide has recognised SACHI as a Recommended restaurant in 2026, confirming its place among the city’s notable tables.
The kitchen is led by Chef Mitsuru Tsukada — known as Chef Mitsu — a former disciple of Master Nobu Matsuhisa. After training in Kumamoto, Japan, and working in London, he moved to Switzerland, where he opened Izumi at Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in 2013. In 2022, he opened SACHI at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva. His cooking is built on careful sourcing of high-quality ingredients and local suppliers, resulting in dishes that balance precision with flavour. Standouts include the signature black cod with yuzu miso sauce, crispy rice, and succulent Wagyu beef.
For a more personal experience, the Omakase Bar offers an intimate setting where guests watch the chef prepare a curated six, eight, or ten-course menu. This is Japanese contemporary cuisine at its most direct — no menu to choose from, just the chef’s selection of the day, presented with skill and clarity. Lunch and dinner service is available, with the Omakase Bar operating both midday and evening.
SACHI’s reputation is reinforced by other awards: Gault & Millau awarded 16/20 in 2025, and Falstaff gave 89/100 with 2 Forks, ranking it sixth in Geneva. The restaurant also accommodates private events and large parties, with sophisticated spaces suitable for birthdays, corporate gatherings, and special occasions. Whether you come for a full omakase or a single plate of sushi, SACHI delivers the authenticity of Japanese contemporary cuisine in an elegant setting on the Rhône.
