The story
High above Emmenmatt, at nearly 1,000 metres, Moosegg looks out over the gentle hills of the Emmental to the Bernese Alps. The boutique hotel and restaurant combines modern elegance with traditional Swiss hospitality. The kitchen, led by chef Daniel Lehmann, is the heart of the house.
Lehmann’s cooking is rooted in the region. He selects high-quality local products and combines them with international delicacies – seasonal, regional and creative. The restaurant’s style is described as modern country cooking, with handcrafted precision and clear flavours. It earned 16 Gault Millau points and a Michelin recommendation for its refined, ingredient-driven approach.
The main restaurant offers an à la carte and tasting menu experience. For a more relaxed meal, the cosy Beiz serves honest, carefully prepared dishes – traditional recipes given a contemporary twist. The wine cellar holds over 950 bottles from established and emerging regions, with pairings for every course.
Whether you come for a tasting menu or a glass of wine with a view, Moosegg delivers a genuine taste of the Emmental.
