The story
In the lakeside town of Brissago, just a few minutes from Locarno, Agorà occupies a 16th-century house on Via Muro degli Ottevi. The thick stone walls and warm interiors create an atmosphere that is both elegant and genuinely welcoming – a place where the focus stays squarely on the plate.
Chef Andrea Trinca has been cooking since his youth. After graduating as a chef in 1997, he worked in Switzerland and abroad, including on cruise ships and at the Michelin-starred Neptune in Geneva. In 2006, together with his wife Dalila, he opened his first restaurant, Centrale d’Intragna. Twelve years later, in 2018, he and his friend Alessandro took over the space that had been run by a mentor, Angelo Conti Rossini, and opened Agorà.
Trinca’s cooking is rooted in Italian tradition and the classic cuisine of the Ticino region, but he is not afraid to draw on international influences. The kitchen works with the best raw ingredients available, following the natural rhythms of the seasons and sourcing from small local producers who share the same philosophy. The menu evolves constantly – guests can choose from a three- or four-course tasting path built around the chef’s daily proposals, or order à la carte. Each dish is a reflection of the land and the moment.
This commitment to quality without pretension earned Agorà a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026, an award that recognizes good quality, good value cooking. It is a fitting endorsement for a restaurant that values both craft and welcome.
In warmer months, the outdoor seating on the small terrace allows diners to enjoy their meal under the Ticino sky. Whether for a quiet dinner or a celebration, Agorà offers a genuine taste of the region – honest, seasonal, and full of flavour.
