The story
Perched in the hillside village of Ronco sopra Ascona, Al Braciere offers a refined and welcoming atmosphere with a terrace that opens onto stunning views of Lake Maggiore. The restaurant describes itself as a true culinary stage, where the kitchen becomes an expression of the encounter between Italian and French traditions, enriched by aromas, spices, and flavors from around the world. This fusion reflects a commitment to gastronomic excellence and invites guests into a sensorial experience of discovery and pleasure.
Chef and owner Luca Fabbro brings over twenty years of experience to the kitchen. His career includes work in several prestigious restaurants, but a defining chapter was a two-year journey around the world between 2016 and 2018. This adventure deeply shaped his vision of cooking and life, becoming a precious collection of knowledge and experiences that now appear in his dishes. Upon returning, Fabbro took over the family restaurant, transforming what was a small guesthouse into a gourmet destination. He revolutionized the concept, introducing a refined cuisine that blends Italian-French tradition with the scents and tastes gathered on his travels.
The cuisine at Al Braciere is rooted in Mediterranean traditions but looks outward for inspiration. Wine enthusiasts will find a broad and varied selection, ideal for accompanying and enhancing each dish. The restaurant is open from March to October for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and its lakeside setting makes it a natural choice for a romantic evening or a relaxed daytime meal. Its quality and consistency have earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition that aligns with its pursuit of culinary excellence.
