The story
Da Enzo was opened in 1992 by Enzo and Josi Andreatta and is still managed by them together with their son Sergio. It sits at the entrance to the wild-romantic Maggia Valley in Ponte Brolla, just outside Locarno. The setting is enveloped in lush bamboo, proud palms and summer roses – a place designed for comfort.
The kitchen focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, drawing on ingredients from the restaurant’s own vegetable garden, where herbs and vegetables are harvested daily for the dishes. The team works with regional producers to ensure natural flavours and the highest quality. Since 1992, Da Enzo has been known as a reference point in Ticino for the quality of its service and its cooking – a reputation that earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction. The wine list is described as offering “many good trouvailles” from Ticino, Italy and other countries, and Sergio and his team are on hand to advise.
The restaurant balances elegance with a welcoming, cosy feel. Oscar Wilde’s words – “I have very simple tastes; I am always satisfied with the best” – are quoted on the homepage, capturing the spirit of the place. Outdoor seating is available, and there is parking. Whether for a meal or a bottle of wine, Da Enzo aims to provide an evening of genuine pleasure.
