In the heart of Locarno's old town, Da Valentino has built a reputation for precise, ingredient-driven Mediterranean cooking. The restaurant's approach is straightforward: start with first-choice ingredients, work them with care and professionalism, and let tradition guide the hand. The result is a menu that changes with the seasons, always rooted in the flavours of the Mediterranean.

The Spaces

Three distinct settings await guests. The intimate terrace offers al fresco dining in warmer months, while the main dining room provides a classic, welcoming atmosphere. A smaller private room is available on reservation—ideal for quiet gatherings. The service team is attentive and well-prepared, adding to the ease of the experience.

The Menu

The current menu showcases a balance of land and sea. Antipasti include a rosy-seared tuna loin with mixed greens and Meaux mustard dressing, and beef tartare topped with autumn truffle and Parmesan foam. Primi courses feature ricotta and wild garlic ravioli with morel sauce, and a risotto mantecato with Robiola di Roccaverano, summer truffle, and chanterelles. Secondi range from sea bass with asparagus, potatoes, and cherry tomatoes to a pan-seared beef fillet with mustard sauce, potato tortino, and seasonal vegetables. Desserts include a caramelised orange cream with vanilla gelato, a soft chocolate fondant with passion fruit sauce, and a lemon and Greek yoghurt semifreddo with strawberries and rhubarb.

Prices are set by course count: two courses at 69 CHF, three at 79 CHF, and four at 92 CHF (beverages excluded).

The Cellar

A wine list of over 100 labels, carefully selected to pair with the menu, complements the dining experience. The restaurant's Michelin Recommended status reflects its consistent quality and thoughtful execution.
