The story
Hide & Seek is the relaxed, contemporary restaurant within the Giardino Ascona hotel, set along the shores of Lake Maggiore. The kitchen, led by Chef Francesco Leone, takes a playful yet precise approach to Mediterranean and international cuisine. The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026 for its confident, ingredient-driven cooking.
Leone’s cooking marries classic craftsmanship with the fresh, sun-drenched flavours of the region and Italy. The menu shifts between subtle harmony and bold, surprising notes – always with an emphasis on lightness and clarity. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, with interesting bottles to match the food.
Every Friday from 19:00, Hide & Seek hosts a special Lobster Evening. A whole lobster is presented three ways, Mediterranean-inspired and paired with a light four-course menu. Guests can add matched wines. The evening is a celebration of seafood, technique and pure flavour.
The restaurant welcomes children and offers outdoor seating for warm evenings. Dress code is casual-chic. Wheelchair access and parking are available.
