The story
In the small village of Intragna, just steps from the train station, Ristorante della Stazione brings together two distinct culinary backgrounds. Sommelière Eloa Geiser grew up on a Ticino alp with goats; chef Yanick Walker spent his childhood among the vineyards of the Valais. They met while working in Ascona — she in service, he in the kitchen — and their shared passion for hospitality and precision led them to take over this historic house. Now they are in their third year as tenants, and the restaurant has earned a Michelin recommendation.
The kitchen’s guiding principle is a love for regional produce. Dishes are built around Ticinese ingredients, prepared with a clear, modern hand. The menu changes with the seasons, and Yanick’s aim is to surprise — not with gimmicks, but with carefully balanced flavours that let the land speak. The pairing of food and wine is a natural extension of the couple’s expertise: Eloa’s sommelier background ensures each glass complements the plate.
The restaurant is part of the Boutique-Hotel Stazione, a small property with individually furnished rooms. The team — a dozen people, each with their own passions — creates a setting that feels both professional and personal. Guests are encouraged to linger over a four-course dinner, or to take a wanderer’s package and explore the surrounding Centovalli before returning to the table. The Michelin recommendation recognises the consistency and care behind every detail, from the first course to the last.
Breakfast, dinner, and private events are all served in the airy dining room or outside on the terrace when the weather allows. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
